About the Company
Building on the Martin Brower tradition of superior service, MBX Ocean Services was established in April of 2008 as a natural expansion into the growing ocean forwarding market. In order to launch a first class operation, the company hired industry leaders with over 20 years experience in the ocean forwarding trade lanes. . The MBX Ocean Services staff is comprised of highly experienced, trained and dedicated individuals that have contributed to the company’s rapid success. As a result, MBX Ocean Services is steadily evolving into a premier full-service ocean freight forwarder.

Weekly Sailings - Our flexible sailing schedules meet your need for speed and your customers’ needs for your products. LCL shippers to Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands are routed through our state of the art terminal in Jacksonville, Fl while our Hawaii clients are serviced through our Los Angeles, Ca location. Both offices are conveniently located within minutes of the Port of Jacksonville and the Port of Long Beach.
Speed and Reliability - MBX Ocean Services uses only fast, reliable ocean vessel service for port-to-port delivery. Our forwarding services to and from Puerto Rico and Hawaii also extend into full container load (FCL) moves at equally competitive rates.
Flexibility - Our flexible billing and single invoice allows you to specify the billing (prepaid, collect, prepaid to port, collect beyond, etc.). In addition, clients will benefit from the convenience of all trucking and ocean shipping costs consolidated into a single, easy-to-read invoice with through-rate quotes that include ocean pricing. Prepaid, collect, prepaid to port, collect beyond, and a multitude of other payment options are available. LCL shipment rates are based, in part, on density per cubic foot or weight volume for the ocean portion. MBX Ocean Services also offers discounted inland rates that are applied on the trucking portion.
E-Business Capabilities - MBX Ocean Services offers a state of the art transportation management system to insure the efficient planning and execution of complex transportation requirements. We offer EDI interfacing as well as warehousing, distribution and cross docking service.
Extensive Network Coverage - MBX Ocean Services has an array of strategic intermodal partners that allow for expedited pickup and delivery of your freight from anywhere in the continental United States to and from the nearest gateway port. MBX Ocean Services works with a very broad base of dry van, refrigerated and flat bed carriers. Puerto Rico –
Important message to Puerto Rico shippers:
Effective April 1, 2006 the U.S. Government requires a commercial invoice to accompany the Bill of Lading to determine the value of the shipment. Any shipment valued over $2500 must file electronically a Shippers Export Declaration (SED). The SED must be filed using the U.S. Custom's Automated Export System (AES). The SED must be filed not less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled vessel department. The MBX Ocean Services trained staff can assist you in your filing.
Hawaii -
MBX Ocean Services provides service to the four main islands - the big island (Hawaii, Port of Hilo), Maui, Oahu, and Kauai. All shipments are land rated to our Los Angeles facility and embark from the port terminal in Long Beach, Ca. Fill out a Bill of Lading to your customer in Hawaii and MBX Ocean Services will take care of the rest. We offer direct loading to and from the major islands.
